In order to create a TLS tunnel for a tool that does not handle it (like finger, gopher, etc.) you can use ptlstunnel.
The following command line allows to start the daemon and rewrite some data (optional) in order to navigate on the Gopher protocol:
perl ptlstunnel.pl -f 127.0.0.1:7043 -b gopher.service.tld:7043 -r angband.t18s.fr(\s+)7043
Then, you just have to make your tool point to
